Chile, The wine country

In the last 3 decades, Chile has become a reference in the world tour of wine countries, and yes, we chileans are very proud. Even if the name of the country has become meaning of "The sure thing", locals are drinking less wine since 2014. Just to have a reference, in 2014, the local consumption was around the 3 Million Hectoliters, while in 2020, consumption went down to 1.8 Million Hectoliters.

That doesn't mean necesarily that exports and consumption of chilean wine went down too, actually, Chile is the 4th biggest exporter of wines in the world in 2023-24.

There are so many valleys and so many seeds to taste that is hard for tourists to decide where to go. But here is the facts: - From the total of wineries in the country (800), only 10% or so are in the Metropolitan Region of Santiago or central valleys, despite great quality of white wines in Casablanca, most of the visited vineyards are actually in Santiago (for logical geographic reasons). If you are tempted to visit cellars or wineries that are worth the effort travelling, visit one of the great websites of the industry here.

Still, if you want to have the chance to visit one of the 91% of the other wineries, just talk to us
